AG UAE attends prestigious Asian Achievers Awards 2024 in London on 20 September 2024
Rabya Anwar, Managing Partner AG UAE, was honoured to attend the prestigious 22nd Asian Achievers Awards held in London on 20 September 2024. The event, celebrating the outstanding contributions of South Asians in the UK, was attended by over 500 distinguished guests, including business leaders, politicians, celebrities, and sports figures.
A Night of Recognition and Celebration
Hosted by Nitin Ganatra and Anila Dhami, the awards highlighted the incredible achievements of individuals across various fields. Boxer Amir Khan was awarded the Special Award for Philanthropy, while Dr. Nighat Arif for her contributions to women's health. Other notable winners included Leicester City footballer Hamza Choudhury who received the Sports Personality of the Year award and Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia, founder of Europe’s largest car parts distributor, who won Business Person of the Year.
The evening also featured powerful performances by Juggy D, a pioneer in Brit Asian music, and Ahir Shah, winner of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, adding a touch of vibrancy to the night’s proceedings
Keynote Address by Commander Umer Khan, OBE
We were privileged to witness Commander Umer Khan deliver a thought-provoking keynote address, focusing on the resilience and contributions of the British Asian community. His speech resonated with the audience, touching on both cultural heritage and the community’s continued efforts to make a significant impact across industries.
Top Table Honors
AG UAE was delighted to be invited to sit at the top table alongside the chief judge, as their guest, where we engaged in meaningful conversations with leaders shaping the future of the UK’s South Asian community. It was an honour and a privilege to share the evening with such distinguished individuals.
The After-Party
After the formal proceedings, the London Hilton on Park Lane played host to an exclusive after-party where guests were treated to flowing drinks, exquisite canapés and great company. The after-party allowed attendees to form new connections and celebrate in style, rounding off an unforgettable evening in the heart of London.
